Types of dresses
I customized this dress last fall to wear for some DIY family holiday photos. This gown made me feel beautiful and glamorous, a feeling I'd forgotten in the time since becoming a mother. But putting on this dress and posing for photos with my beautiful miracle family felt magical. Being able to customize this dress to be exactly what I dreamed of -- the perfect fabric, in a cut and style that felt stylish, flattering and comfortable to me, while still oozing festive glamour -- made me feel joyous and confident in front of the camera. It felt amazing and I received many compliments. I love how I was able to choose the shape/length of the sleeves and neckline and also the dress length.
I'd never had a dress custom-made before , and with my dimensions, it can be tough to find a ready-to-wear dress that suits me. This dress was PERFECT not only for my figure, but for the event -- the red dots echoed the circle theme we had going that year, and the red is pretty close to TED's official ink color. Just wearing that dress, that day and every day since, brings me great joy.

The Victorian era's dresses were tight-fitting and decorated with pleats, rouching and frills. Women in the United States who were involved in dress reform in the 1850s found themselves the center of attention, both positive and negative. By 1881, the Rational Dress Society had formed in reaction to the restrictive dress of the era.
